I'm originally from Milan, Italy, and grew up speaking Italian, French and English interchangeably. I LOVE teaching languages, and for this reason have always pursued different ways to do so, both independently, as a private tutor, and through Bryn Mawr College. I worked as Teaching Assistant in French and Italian for two years at Bryn Mawr, and also became Head Tutor of Arabic, French and Italian in my senior year, taking on full responsibility of combining the three departments under my supervision. Recently, I began tutoring a lawyer who had never been exposed to Italian before: we now have conversations in Italian, and he is able to recognize and conjugate regular and irregular verbs, and form sentences and more complex paragraphs in the language. It is an incredibly rewarding experience to teach others my native language, as it also allows me to trigger imagination and creativity in coming up with fun ways of teaching things that can otherwise become tedious. Also skilled in translations to and from Italian (English or French), adapting technical language to suit audience and achieve intended outcomes.
