Education

B.S. in Biology at University of California, Irvine. M.S. student Biochemistry at CSU Long Beach I taught a couple discussion classes and labs for general chemistry. Teaching is a passion of mine, and I spend a lot of time helping students. I put in a lot of effort in analyzing their learning patterns and work along side them to shore up any deficiencies in their thought process and work ethic. As a Master's student, I conducted some research on a particular enzyme called triosephosphate isomerase. As a biochemist, I have extensive and deep knowledge in both biology and chemistry, but I am able to simplify concepts for your high school student, while tying it together with larger concepts and real world examples.

Experience

I still tutor on the side while working in medical device research. My experience includes: - 6th-7th, 9th-12th graders - I work well with students that learned English as their second language. - I work well with kids I am proficient in teaching most high school science courses, as well as math, history, and economics. As a biology major, I've taken all mandatory biology classes, which included 1 year of physics and 2 years of chemistry.

Hobbies

I like playing the guitar, biking, backpacking, and wood-working. I like reading classics and sci-fi, and Nolan movies. I enjoy listening to history podcasts when I'm driving. Though my master's program has taken up most of my time, I try to spend a chunk of time during the week with my church and family. I have a passion for the mental well-being of my students, and they often ask me for career advice. It's important to me that students develop their own work ethic, that they aren't being driven just by me or their parents, so that they might have long term success in life. As such, I try to incorporate reasons why they should attempt at scholastic excellence, and I try to point out what life skills they can glean from the current class.
